Baylor University and faculty in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders seek a dynamic researcher and educator to fill this Assistant of Speech-Language Pathology beginning August 2019.
Qualifications:Qualifications include a commitment to excellence in research and teaching and a Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or closely related area.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences & Disorders and an active research agenda with strong potential for external funding. Candidates who have ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) and eligibility for Texas state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology will be preferred, as well as those candidates with online teaching experience.
Responsibilities: The position entails responsibilities that include maintaining an active collaborative funded research agenda teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in residential and online programs and engaging in departmental, university and professional service. The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent research program with potential for extramural funding and engage in collaborative research endeavors. Applications will be accepted from candidates having interests in a broad range of areas, with preference toward those areas of dysphagia, aphasia, and motor speech disorders. The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Baylor University offers bachelors and masters degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and is CAA certified. A Ph.D. program is currently being developed as well as an online master’s program.
Salary and Review Date: Salary is commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.
