Responsible for the monitoring and care of patients during all night polysomnograms and MSLT testing. Functions independently to operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. Applies recording devices to the patient, cleans/sterilizes equipment, and maintains sleep laboratory area with minimal supervision. Recognizes sleep pathology in the laboratory setting and responds appropriately to protocols within departmet to ensure prpoer patient care and safety. Reviews and scores overnight PSG and MSLT's, as trained when working a dayshift. Processes and documents results. Provides services to patients age 1 year and older.
Credentialed by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists to perform both diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnograms or a certificiate throught the National Board of Respiratory Care for Sleep Disorder Theraputic Intervention.
At least a minimum of 1 years experience in an established sleep center, but not required.
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications:
RPSGT, CPSGT,or CRT/RRT-SDS, Certified in BLS.Technician will also provide 10 hours per year averagd over 3 years of 1 CME on sleep related education.
