Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will work in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, Physician Chairs, Vice Presidents and Partner Hospitals, to develop and lead a Strategic Planning process across the health system.
Strategic Planning/Strategic Implementation
In collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer, develop and lead a strategic planning process across the health system.
Develop strategic initiatives to gain market share and maximize profitability, and execute plans to make those initiatives achievable.
Partner with leaders across the organization, leveraging the system’s core competencies and recognizing when strategies under consideration do not align with those competencies and therefore represent undue risk.
Identify and develop the necessary processes to link the strategic initiatives portfolio and project management resources, thereby enabling an effectively coordinated implementation.
Analyze business metrics collected at the financial and project levels to verify objectives are progressing as planned, and to direct additional actions to be taken when problems or risks are identified.
Partner with the chief financial officer and members of the executive team to evaluate the current financial performance of the system and identify specific areas in need of improvement.
Ensure strategic business plans are developed in alignment with strategy planning road maps to provide insight into strategic initiatives, delivery timelines and resource requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate business data sets and develop data-informed strategies in service of stated goals.
Collaborate with Business Performance dyad leaders on the development of business performance reporting tools through BI, visualization tools, etc.
Facilitate inter/intra system teamwork to achieve business goals while promoting a culture of common purpose.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, supervisees, business professionals, and clients.
Working in collaboration with the Kansas City Operations Executive Team, lead development of market strategy across the Kansas City market to include optimizing and consolidating current clinical locations throughout the Kansas City market.
Lead implementation of market initiatives to ensure plans are successfully executed.
Evaluate practice locations in response to the health system’s growth and recruitment strategies.
Partner with Ambulatory Care dyad and Physician Chairs on the development and implementation of all access initiatives and ongoing primary care strategy development and implementation/deployment of primary care across divisions.
Direct Oversight/Reporting relationship with a new executive role: Executive Leader of Physician Market Strategy (job responsibilities below)
Partners with UKHS leaders to prioritize physician growth strategy and deployment.
Partners with UKHS physician leaders to identify physician deployment needs and acquisition strategies.
Partners with UKHS divisional presidents and partner hospitals on regional physician manpower planning.
UKHS executive lead for manpower plan development with Ardent/St. Francis Campus, Hays and other hospital partners regarding strategic recruitment and development of new markets.
Develops physician deployment strategy in regional and rural markets.
Serves as ambassador to physician practices to help with engagement and market strategy.
Partners with physician workgroups to develop strategy and deployment plans.
Identifies physician recruitment needs and evaluates potential plans.
Participates in ongoing telemedicine and outreach strategy development.
Develops a sustainable manpower plan across all UKHS divisions.
Partners with UKHS leaders and chairs on practice acquisition opportunities.
Leads practice acquisitions of strategic growth targets.
M.S.H.A, M.B.A. or comparable level degree required.
10 plus years in progressively advancing leadership roles/management experience.
10 plus years in complex health care environment and working in strategic leadership. Academic medical center experience preferred.
Experience in developing and implementing a strategic planning process and collaboration across a highly complex healthcare organization with multiple hospital locations.
Experience in leading teams in strategic planning and implementation.
Must understand the business deeply and have experience in transforming data into information that can be used to improve efficiencies and drive strategic growth.
Demonstrated competence in understanding organizational priorities and successfully lead/influence organizational focus on the strategic initiatives.
Must have exceptional communication skills and be comfortable giving presentations to all levels of a corporation, from the board to hands-on employees.
