The Chief Strategy Officer, under direction of the Vice Chancellor of Human Health Sciences and Chief Executive Officer of UC Davis Health, is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic and business plans for the clinical enterprise, working in close coordination with the School of Medicine, Betty Irene School of Nursing, Medical Center and with overall campus and University leadership. This includes creating the processes by which the organization will conduct its strategic planning and annual plan review processes. Identifying and quantifying new business opportunities and working with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive value proposition that will include appropriate data by which senior leadership can make informed decisions regarding investment request. The Chief Strategy Officer is accountable to the Vice Chancellor of Human Health Sciences and Chief Executive Officer of UC Davis Health.
Bachelors degree in health care or business degree.
3 or more years of experience in healthcare leadership, clinical operations, or related services in an executive level capacity.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in one-to-one and group settings.
Exceptional analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial operations.
Experience in business development and marketing in a health or medical environment.
A solid understanding of national health care issues.
Proven record of selecting and developing high performance teams.
Proven track record of developing and implementing strategies that led to expansion, increased market share and improved performance of a complex healthcare enterprise.
Record of success in developing physician partnerships.
A documented track record of implementing and accomplishing continuous process improvements in a complex health care organization or health system.
Demonstrated results with enhancing business outreach, strategy, and clinical enterprise performance while supporting the UCDH mission and enhancing the quality of care delivered to patients.
Excellent customer service skills to understand and articulate diverse clients needs and objectives; set and manage expectations and deliver as promised on time.
Advanced degree in healthcare administration of related field
In-depth knowledge of the Sacramento County and UCHD Regional health care community.
Must be able to communicate well in a highly visible public forum; must have physical and emotional stamina to thrive in a results driven environment; must have a professional and polished presence in person and virtually; must have experience partnering with diverse populations by demonstrating cultural sensitivity/awareness and flexibility.
