Vinson Hall Retirement Community (VHRC), a Continuing Care Retirement Community/Life Plan Community, located in McLean, VA, is currently hiring a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The CNO is responsible for providing the day-to-day leadership and direction necessary for the successful operation of Vinson Hall Retirement Community’s Nursing and Health Care Services to include resident care, nursing practices, nursing education, employee health and clinical development. Provides guidance and assistance to the Administrators, clinical management and staff of Arleigh Burke Pavilion, Kathy Martin Community Building, Vinson Hall, and The Sylvestery. Develops and manages nursing and clinical area goals, objectives, and standards of performance, policies and procedures. Ensures regulatory compliance and is responsible for staffing levels for all areas of responsibility.
The position reports to the CEO/Executive Director.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Plans, directs, and supervises the nursing operations/activities of Vinson Hall, Kathy Martin Community Building, Arleigh Burke Pavilion, and the Sylvestery. Evaluates the performance of each area and recommends improvements in clinical services, patient safety and compliance, as appropriate.
Responsible for the overall operation for the Resident Care Associate program and the development and implementation of Home Health and Community Based Services.
Ensures regulatory compliance and works closely with Administrators during all related surveys.
Provides direction for all operational and procedural details in accordance with approved plans.
Approves nursing policies, nursing standards of patient care, treatment, and services.
Ensures consistency in the standard of nursing practice across all related health care settings.
As a member of the Executive Team, assists in Strategic Planning and Long Range Planning and helps to guide the organization's strategic and long range plans.
Coordinates and reviews the development of the annual operating and capital budgets.
Provides reports on the performance of nursing and healthcare service delivery to CEO.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum of five years of experience in an executive level position in a healthcare or senior living organization required.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business management or related field preferred
Current Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia required
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
