The Manager of Risk Management will be under the general direction of a senior Executive, responsible for the daily management of the clinical loss prevention and risk management activities, education and application of loss prevention activities for all Asante hospital entities.
As the Manager of Risk Management at Asante you will have the opportunity to:
Work closely with colleagues in a wide range of clinical and administrative assignments to preserve the assets of the organization and promote a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Provide oversight and guidance regarding risk issues and safety events.
Maintain a systematic process for tracking and trending safety events
Ensure the assessment, identification, evaluation, reporting and follow-up on risk management activities.
Bachelors degree in a healthcare related field with strong clinical background
Masters degree in healthcare related field, preferred.
Working knowledge of team development, functions and group dynamics. Broad knowledge of standards of care. Education in legal aspects of patient care. Knowledge of adult learning principles
Five years risk management or quality improvement experience providing a good working knowledge of legal system and current risk management practices.
Successful management experience of 3 years with additional skills in leadership, problem-solving, decision making, conflict resolution, and group process.
Demonstrated skills with computer applications (ie Microsoft office), statistical programs and clinical and administrative databases.
RN : Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing
CPHRM : Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) issued by the American Hosptials Association (AHA)
CPHQ : Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) by Healthcare Quality Certification Board
Knowledge of federal regulations regarding patient rights related to grievances.
Ability to analyze data for risk management implications. Excellent organizational skills for process development and coordination.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact well with all levels of staff, and motivate others. Proven leadership skills with strengths in organizational development. Capable of handling diverse activities in a fast paced environment.
Knowledge of adult teaching/learning principles.
Requires excellent communication skills with demonstrated public speaking skills.
Ensures confidentiality of serious safety events and incidents.
