Director Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital is seeking BC/BE Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our staff of 3 Board Certified pulmonologists with the plan of eventually growing to 5. Candidates must have superior clinical and interpersonal skills and must possess a strong desire to participate in program development, research and medical education. Candidates ideally should have 3 years post fellowship experience. Research in our division is encouraged and will continue to grow with the recent development of The Center for Health Research at Geisinger.
Our division oversees a newly certified Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Center which follows 69 pediatric CF patients. We have excellent rapport with adult thoracic medicine who follow 61 adults in the accredited adult center. There is close collaboration with Allergy on asthma care with ongoing efforts in the development of a regional asthma program. Pediatric sleep studies are performed through an accredited sleep program that oversees multiple sleep labs throughout northeast and north central Pennsylvania. Pediatric studies are done in 6 of the labs as well as the inpatient setting if needed. We work with our pediatric intensivist in an established Pediatric Hospital to Home Program that trains families in the care of children who require chronic home mechanical ventilation. We deliver outpatient care at our Danville hub where the children’s hospital is located as well as 7 other outreach sites throughout our service area. Our Division enjoys exceptionally collegial relationships with a full array of medical and surgical subspecialists which includes but is not limited to Pediatric ENT, Pediatric Surgery, Neonatology, and Pediatric GI.
All Division members take an active role in the education of pediatric, pediatric/medicine, and emergency medicine residents, medical students and mid-level practitioners. Faculty appointment commensurate with experience is available through Temple University School of Medicine or Philadelphia College Osteopathic of Medicine

- Is a 91 bed, 4 floor children’s hospital located on the campus of Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
- 36 Medical beds between 2 inpatient floors.
- The PICU is a 12 bed, soon to be 14 bed unit.
- The NICU is a Level 4 NICU with 41 beds.
- Is part of Geisinger Health System that serves as a regional referral for more than 3 million individuals of central and northeastern Pennsylvania.
