The Community Life Manager leads the way in creating vibrant platforms of life throughout Orchard Cove by engaging a team to develop opportunities of engagement based on "what matters most" to every resident. The Community Life Manager develops relationships with external professionals and residents to plan programs and events. The Community Life Manager works closely with staff throughout the community, as well as residents and families. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. At least five years of positive, collaborative leadership of a dynamic team is required. |

Core Competencies: • Leads the Community Life team in creating high caliber program opportunities throughout the Orchard Cove community which are based on “what matters most” to our residents and the community. •Successfully manage a departmental budget that includes invoicing of professional performers, teaching contractors, culinary offerings, transportation expenses and the cost of potential new additions to the community life program •Maintain high level of independent work style to create and develop unique programs as well as build professional relationship; conduct duties with a well developed, professional and diplomatic communication style to deal with a high level of performers when building the necessary network of contacts that will ensure an engaging social calendar •Monitor and diffuse challenging interactions, while placing the customer service focus on building respect, trust and a commitment to Orchard Cove’s audience, its staff and the residents; our customers •Build support, with both residents as well as staff, as it takes a well rounded and cross functional team to produce well organized and successful offerings that affect the community at large •Develop a process for residents to share their thoughts, feelings and needs which will shape Community Life programming •Manage effective timelines, including daily, as well as short and long term goals, while maintaining a fluid flexibility that enables quick turnarounds within a culture that has daily challenges •Develop and oversee a flexible team that is able to adjust quickly to the timely needs of the community. Position Responsibilities: •Design creative and exciting community life program offerings to meet the needs of the community, based on “what matters most” to residents and the community. Responsible for the monthly offerings of special events, including but not limited to lectures, concerts, classes, discussion groups, art offerings, movie selections, group outings and life-long learning courses. •Serves as a member of the Vitalize 360 Interdisciplinary Team to review individual residents’ plan and to interface with the team on the life enrichment process, overseeing the IDT’s Wish List and the developing of new and ongoing enrichment offerings •Responsible for overseeing the department’s budget, its General Ledger accounts, department equipment, and supplies. •Coordinate special events throughout Orchard Cove by developing and maintaining contact with community agencies, organizations and networking resources. •Coordinate and plan community outreach events with the Marketing Department. •Responsible for staff management engagement and overseeing process improvement. •Oversee the Community Life team in facilitating the daily setup and break down of all functions throughout the community. •Responsible for creating the system which ensures the appropriate support to successfully hold all community life programs, with a focus on the safety and comfort of all residents. •Committed to a flexible schedule to support Community Life programming. This will at times include being present in the evenings and weekends. •Serves as the staff representative on the Resident Activities Committee • Other duties as assigned
