The Village at Germantown is a progressive single site life plan community (CCRC). Looking to hire an experienced Director of Nursing. Recently the Village has opened a new, state of the art assisted living/memory care building including a full service adult day care program. In January 2017 the Village completed a total renovation of skilled nursing and the construction of a new 1,800 sq. ft. rehab facility.

Under the supervision of the Healthcare Administrator the incumbent plans, organizes, develops, directs and evaluates the nursing service operation ensuring the highest degree of quality patient care. Ensures that all applicable Federal, State and local standards are adhered to. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Director of Nursing with some or all in a long term care setting.
Essential Functions: • Assures appropriateness of resident admission to the facility. • Assures resident rights are protected. • Identifies and promotes correction of problems in service provision or poor quality of resident care. • Oversees efforts to assess, plan, and evaluate staff development needs. • Shares and communicates new knowledge. • Develops liaisons with local schools and universities. • Promotes a positive image of long term care nursing • Meets with prospective and current residents and their families • Promotes positive guest relations • Assures problems and complaints involving nursing services are managed in a timely and appropriate manner. • Protects the privacy of residents and employees. • Represents the facility and nursing service in professional and community activities. • Maintains positive working relationships between nursing staff and other departments. • Insures compliance through environmental rounds. • Acts as liaison to medical director and or rounding MD or NP. • Must be available if needed to cover shifts for other RNs.
Knowledge and Skill: • Meets state guidelines to qualify as RN and have current CPR certification. • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations, as well as OBRA laws. • Ability to supervise and manage nursing staff. • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, and families.
Qualifications: • Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions. • Must be able to maintain a level of confidentiality in accordance with federal and state regulations. • Current RN license
Special Demands: • Must possess and exhibit a strong positive attitude toward customer service and have a genuine interest in geriatric care and uphold the philosophy of the community. • Ability to communicate directions and goals clearly and effectively. • Ability to make independent decisions when the circumstances warrant such actions.
Mental & Physical Requirements: • Requires ability to stand &walk short and long distances for extended periods of time. • Must be able to lift and/or carry objects in excess of 30 pounds. • Requires reaching above, below and at shoulder level.
