Provides compassionate nursing care in a 20 bed acute care setting. Interacts with assigned patients to administer medications, assist physicians, observe and record condition and changes, taking vital signs and documenting medical history. Makes beds, bathes and feeds assigned patients. Responds to lifesaving situations based on standards and protocols. Maintains and develops medical skills, maintains confidentiality. Has good interpersonal skills and is able to manage emotional situations effectively. Acts in a professional, respectful manner and works toward providing high patient satisfaction. Promotes quality improvements and is dependable about commitments. Directly supervises 2-3 employees in Acute Care nursing in accordance with Bigfork Valley policies.
Minimum of Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
Current Minnesota Registered Nursing License; BLS, ACLS, TNCC and CALS certifications as required. Ability to work with Microsoft computer software.
