The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at VA Pacific Islands, Guam Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) exercised overall leadership responsibility for the day to day operations at the Guam CBOC and is responsible for coordination of care consistent with Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Aligned Care Teams. The CMO is responsible for implementation of the Medical Center's policies, rules and regulations and reports directly to the Deputy Associate Chief of Staff for Primary Care. The CMO is responsible for ensuring that access and quality performance measures are met at the Guam CBOC. It is expected that the CMO be a strong leader with experience in systems redesign/performance improvement, familiar and conversant with VA data sources, is flexible/adaptable and able to manage multiple competing priorities. The CMO is the first line supervisor for those primary care providers assigned to the Guam CBOC and must work collaboratively with the Nurse Manager and lead providers for Mental Health and Home Based Primary Care (HBPC).

- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
