We are seeking a fellowship trained Breast Imager to join our team of clinical experts in Iowa City. We offer digital mammography, breast ultrasound, and stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies. Breast MRI and MRI-guided biopsies will be added as our program expands. Our program is new and will expand to include all aspects of breast care. Candidates must be proficient in all aspects of Breast Imaging including breast procedures. Candidates will be residency-trained in Diagnostic Radiology and Board-Certified or Board-Eligible (recent graduates falling under the new ABR guidelines). Qualified candidate will manage the Mammography Section, including day to day operations, inspections, and supervision of mammography technologists. Qualified candidates may be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Iowa Healthcare.
Our Imaging Service has state of the art equipment including 1.5T and 3.0T MRI (upgrades coming in 2017), 320 and 64 slice CT, ultrasound, interventional radiology, digital radiography, SPECT, PET/CT, and state of the art fluoroscopy units.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, administrative day.

Physical Requirements: It is VA policy to ensure that all selected applicants and employed personnel are physically, mentally and emotionally fit to perform the duties of the position to which assigned. The population of male and female veterans served ranges from the adult, age 18, to the elderly adult, age 65 and over. ICVAHCS is a major interdisciplinary teaching facility, serving medical, surgical, and neurological inpatients and outpatients.
This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing. Transferring patients and objects may be required. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs. Must complete annual Employee Health requirements, such as annual TB screening or testing, as a condition of employment.
