Conveniently located on Manhattan's Lower East Side and accessible by mass transportation from most parts of New York City, Gouverneur operates a 255-bed Nursing Facility and provides comprehensive, high quality ambulatory care services at several easy-to-reach clinic locations.
Gouverneur, an academic affiliate of NYU School of Medicine and Rusk Institute of
Rehabilitation Medicine, provides high-quality sub-acute rehabilitation medicine and skilled nursing services.
Gouverneur is seeking an experienced, dynamic, highly motivated, energetic individual to provide clinical expertise and leadership as the Director of Nursing. The Director acts as a change agent, leader and role model for the nursing profession with the goal of having nurses work at the top of their licenses. Provides guidance and develops action plans to address patient care issues.
The Director of Nursing is accountable and responsible for planning, directing and evaluating activities of the nursing department, including standards for nursing practice and the management and development of nursing personnel. The Director of Nursing must be a skilled leader able to demonstrate cultural competence in a diverse environment.
- Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State; and,
- A Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or an equivalent field; and,
- Five years of progressive leadership experience in area of practice in Long Term Care;
- Current certification in area of practice, preferred.
