The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS is seeking a Pharmacist Supervisor (Inpatient) that will be responsible for the overall supervision of all professional and administrative operations and personnel of the inpatient section of the pharmacy. This includes coordinating the activities of pharmacists primarily and occasionally assigned to Inpatient Pharmacy, including but not limited to clinical Unit Dose Specialists, IV room Program Manager, Unit Dose Program Manager, Community Living Center Program Manager and technical staff employees primarily and occasionally assigned Inpatient Pharmacy, and to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures established by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Inpatient section provides full pharmaceutical services to patients and residents in the 187 bed hospital and 120 bed Community Living Center. The services are provided twenty-four hours, seven days a week. You will be responsible for helping to manage the Emergency Drug Cache and participating in Narcotic Drug Inspection and Destruction programs in the quarterly narcotic drug destruction.
In Addition, coordinating multiple programs in Inpatient Pharmacy Service in the medical facility. Develops and maintains a system of internal reviews that ensure service programs operate at a satisfactory level of performance and in compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies. Responsible for Inpatient Pharmacy utilization of resources and budget. Makes selections, assigns personnel, and serves as a mentor to help employees develop their full potential.
