TriHealth has responsibility for management of operations, strategic planning and fiscal operations of the health system as delegated to it by its two sponsors: Bethesda, Inc. and Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI). Bethesda, Inc. is the sole voting member of Bethesda Hospital, Inc. and is a private non-profit Ohio corporation that also owns and operates selected health-related entities not included in the TriHealth integrated delivery network.
CHI is the sole voting member of Good Samaritan Hospital and ranks as the nation’s second-largest faith-based health system. CHI operates in 18 states and is comprised of 92 hospitals, 40 long-term care, assisted and independent living and residential facilities; nursing colleges and numerous other facilities and services. It annually provides more than $760 million in charity care.
