The VA Long Beach Health Care System isseekingastaff physicians for our Urology department. Applicants must meet VA qualifications and qualifications to warrant anaffiliation with the University of California, Irvine. The Physician will serve as a clinical urologist andparticipate in on-call duties. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to work within VA infrastructure and VA guidelines. The candidate must possess comprehensive expertise in Urology including closed urologic procedures, open urologic procedures, laparoscopic assisted procedures and robotic assisted procedures. The duties will include the delivery of outpatient and inpatient urologic care to Veterans, and participating in performance improvement, quality improvement and medical education activities. The Urology section performs approximately 1500 combined operations and procedures per year. A demonstrated academic interest is strongly preferred. Robotic surgery experience is strongly preferred.

Citizenship: United States
Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Licensure and Registration: Must have current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Language Proficiency: Physicians appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by Title 38 U.S.C. 7402 and 7405(f).
