This position will be co-located in the primary care/medical clinic and the behavioral health department at the Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center, Sisseton Indian Health Service Unit, Sisseton, SD. The purpose of this position is to assist in the mission of the Sisseton IHS service unit in implementing and Integrated Primary Care program, and, more broadly, to assist in the mission of the Behavioral Health Department in providing comprehensive holistic health and wellness approach to mental, physical, emotional and spiritual/traditional health for the American Indian/Native American population on the Lake Traverse reservation.
The IHS is required by law to give absolute preference to qualified applicants who meet the Secretary of the Interior's definition of Indian for appointment to vacancies within the IHS in accordance with established IHS policy as outlined in the Indian Health Manual Part 7, Chapter 3.
