Kansas City VAMC is looking for a Board Certified or Eligible Nephrologist to provide service to the Renal/Dialysis/Hypertension Clinic, providing daily inpatient rounds with residents, interns and medical students. The provider will be expected to provide outpatient service in the following clinics:
- Chronic Kidney Disease
- Transplant Follow-up
Committee and daily/weekly conferencemembership and participation is expected, including formal educational presentations and peer review.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., call required

- Citizenship of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs policy.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Experience:Nephrology Fellowship; 3-5 years clinical experience; Board Certified in Nephrology
Applicants with the following certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN) are highly preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). (AHA certification preferred.)
