These positions are located in the Nursing Service at the VA Medical Center in Boise, ID.
Duties include, but not limited to the following:
â?¢Performs a variety of nursing care task and reports results verbally and/or documenting on the appropriate form, such as bathing, skin care, oral feedings, position, turning, and lifting patients; takes vital signs, obtains 12 lead EKGs, measures height and weight, and performs postmortem care.
â?¢Assists with setting up and operating special equipment (e.g., bed scales, mechanical lifts, orthopedic frames, K-pads, patient helpers, sequential compression devices, Dinemapps, oxygen saturation machine, accuchecks.
â?¢ Observes intravenous sites for redness and swelling and reports adverse finding.
â?¢Performs simple oral and nasal suctioning.
â?¢Uses sterile technique with treatments and simple dressings that do not require packing, irrigation, or debridement. Wraps stumps, irrigates stabilized ostomies, and changes appliances
