As a key leader for the SCL Oncology Center of Excellence, the Oncology Service Line Director is accountable for the overall leadership and management of all aspects of the adult oncology service line offered at the care site, including, but not limited to infusion center, support services, radiation oncology, breast imaging and other areas deemed oncology-related. The Director proactively engages other department leaders that provide oncology care to define and implement processes that promote high quality outcomes, workflow efficiencies, and positive customer experiences. The Director is responsible for collaborative working relationships with system services, including Revenue Service Center, Finance and others, for the efficient and effective operations and customer service of the site Cancer Center and patients.
The Director creates a supportive environment that encourages professional growth/development and open sharing of performance improvement opportunities among all associates. He/she defines departmental budgets and performance objectives in conjunction with Senior Leadership and subsequently maintains accountability for achieving fiscal and productivity goals. He/she plays an integral role in engaging fellow associates, physicians, and community partners in program development, strategic planning, and business development for the organization regarding capital and operational activities to ensure optimal results and market share goals.
Work in partnership with Care Site, National Jewish Health and SCL Health System Oncology Service Line leadership to implement system-wide initiatives related to quality improvement, workflow efficiencies, stewardship of financial resources, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction to support the Mission of SCL Health and the Oncology Center of Excellence.
Work in partnership with other site Directors, including inpatient Oncology leadership, Emergency Department, Support Services, to establish working relationships and integrate with the site leadership team.
Be a leader in the site Oncology Service Line Steering Committee and structure, and assumes the dyad leadership role with the Medical Director at the site, in partnership with the executive sponsor of the Service Line and Operations leadership of functional areas related to the Service Line.
- Bachelor’s Degree in clinically relevant field
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or HealthCare Administration, Preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience in oncology patient care, with at least 2 years' in Management role
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Word/Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint
- Progressive management experience in an acute care environment, preferably in an oncology setting. Management experience in the outpatient Oncology setting.
