Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Staff (Emergency Department, 0.9 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska!
This is a variable shift (0.9 FTE), full-time position with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new hires, relocation assistance, and tuition reimbursement!

In this position you will:
Deliver and supervise safe, evidence-based quality care, individualized for assigned patients which reflects a standard of best practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Collaborate and consult with the patient, family members, and healthcare team to develop, document, implement and monitor individualized care plans and consult with all parties to assure necessary education in support of the treatment plan.
Work in partnership with healthcare team, the patient, and others as appropriate, in the development of a proactive discharge plan.
Legibly and electronically document patient care activities and information in an accurate, concise, and timely manner.
Support and assist with orientation of new staff and students.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire
All Registered Nurses without a Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) degree or higher must obtain a BSN within 3 years of hire. RNs with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN
Current Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) License
Certifications required upon hire:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire
Certifications required within 180 days of hire
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
12 months acute care experience working with the patient population similar to department of hire or completion of the specialty residency at the Alaska Medical Center
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
National certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN)
