Job Summary: Reports to Hospital Administrator. Serves as a visionary leader and is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta (LLUMC-Murrieta) Quality Plan. Plans, organizes, directs, implements and communicates quality activities for LLUMC-Murrieta, including medical staff, nursing and ancillary services. Coordinates and aligns activities at LLUMC-Murrieta in conjunction with Loma Linda University Health (LLUH), regional and national service line strategy and processes. All activities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of LLUMC-Murrieta. Performs other duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) : Extensive knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation, quality, patient safety, performance improvement methodologies, statistical principles, pay for reporting/ performance indicators and research required. Must understand evidenced-based medicine concepts and medical staff committee structure and peer review process. Must have highly developed oral and written communication skills and utilize professional clinical assessment skills to refer and communicate patient care information. Demonstrate a high degree of social skills in obtaining cooperation and support from a broad range of people and ability to work effectively with physician, nursing, administrative, and ancillary staff. Must be able to team build; provide leadership; supervise; train and develop people in the realm of quality and performance improvement; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; analyze and interpret data and process flow; objectively problem solve accompanied by problem resolution skills; organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; provide written and oral interpretation of highly specialized data and ability to present the data to others with different levels of expertise; think critically; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently; perform advanced math and statistical functions; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program; prioritize time-sensitive resolution of time-sensitive issues and workload;hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; exhibit professional dress and behavior at all times.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a licensed clinical healthcare discipline
Master's Degree in health related field (in progress with annual updates acceptable).
Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated relevant acute care clinical experience
Minimum of three (3) years of director/manager level experience with direct staff oversight responsibility required. Minimum of three (3) years experience in acute hospital Quality and Patient Safety Management
Licensure, Certification, or Registration: If registered nurse, a current California Registered Nursing license is required. If other licensed healthcare provider, a current license in field of specialty is required. CPHQ certification preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt or greater preferred
