Providence is calling a part time, night shift Psychiatric Care Technician with the Crisis Recovery Centerat Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
The Psychiatric Care Technician performs a variety of psychiatric duties designed to provide care to psychiatric clients in sub-acute crisis stabilization service.
In this position you will:
Assists clinical staff with client admissions. Provide assistance to staff and clients depending on clinical or administrative need.
Assist with coordination of client flow and milieu management. Recognize the special needs of mental health clients and assists in providing the least restrictive environment of care for the management of the client.
Provide basic client care under the supervision of the primary caregiver.
Accurately observes, reports, and documents client behavior; recognizes and indicates to the treatment team when significant psychiatric acuity changes are occurring in clients.
Communicate effectively with families and clients experiencing a range of psychiatric illnesses. Activates and assists treatment team to deescalate and/or transition combative and self-abusive clients as per unit policy and procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduate or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
1 (one) or more years of experience working in a behavioral health position.
MANDT or PMAB (Prevention and Management of Agressive Behavior) within six months of hire required.
