Providence is calling a Chemical Dependency Professional Trainee to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Lacey, WA.
We are seeking an Chemical Dependency Professional Trainee (CDPT) to provide support services in the treatment of chemically dependent patients and their families. This is a Full Time / Variable shift position supporting our clients Monday - Friday.
In this position you will:
Work under the supervision of the Chemical Dependency Counselor, Patient Services Coordinator and Patient Services Manager to implement, maintain and coordinate the case management of chemical dependency patients.
Deliver treatment services including individual and family sessions, lectures and group therapy according to the guidelines of WAC 246-811 and RCW 18.205 and under the direction and tutoring of a Chemical Dependency Professional.
Perform all levels of preadmission assessment, from inquiry to biopsychosocial assessment, as well as aspects of the clinical admission process.
Use open and clear communication with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary medical professionals while maintaining patient and employer confidentiality.
Demonstrate critical thinking skills, ethical discernment and decisive judgment.
Maintain patient records by using electronic systems.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current WA State Department of Health Chemical Dependency Professional Trainee Certification as defined in WAC 246-811-035
Currently Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
Valid driver's license
Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Counseling or related field
Completion of Chemical Dependency classes involving treatment planning, individual and group counseling, assessments and case management
