Manages the daily operations for the organization's infection control programs and policies for a 700+ bed academic hospital, 90+ ambulatory clinics and will be supervising a team of nine.
Looking for someone that has:
Certified in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control & Epidemiology.
5 years of experience as an infection preventionist and experience as a manager of any duration.
Previous nursing experience preferred.
Masters and academic hospital experience highly preferred.
Manages the development and implementation of infection control goals, standards, plans, and programs which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization. Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with staff, physicians, and other departments. Manages complaints and conflicts through to resolution.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagements.
Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
Performs infection surveillance. Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of infection data, including risk assessment, surveillance priorities, and outcomes analysis. Consults/collaborates across departments on infection prevention/infectious disease issues.
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Three years' direct hospital system infection prevention program management experience.
Three years of managerial experience to include developing and monitoring an infection prevention program in a large healthcare system.
Certified in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control & Epidemiology (CBIC) preferred.
Master's degree in related field preferred.
