DutiesRegistry as an EEG technician is preferred.•Established sterile techniques when conducting EEG procedures in neonatal nursery, ICU or operating room.•Perform operator maintenance of EEG equipment.•Sharpens, cleans and sterilizes electrodes.•Answers the phone, makes appointments and makes preparations for emergencies.•Perform Cortical Evoked Potential studies including visual, brainstem and somatosensory evoked potentials.•Utilize computer averaging techniques and makes changes in stimulation parameters, filter band width, and gain to optimize recording of cortically evoked potentials.•Provide basic education concerning the nature of the procedure in order to establish a rapport with the patient.•Scan patient's health records for contributing, complicating or other medical conditions pertinent to the performance of EEG procedures.
