INFECTION PREVENTIONIST II
The Infection Preventionist assists with day to-day supervision of the Infection Prevention department and program. The selected candidate will have significant prior experience in both infection prevention/control and a related field (e.g. nursing, microbiology, epidemiology). The preventionist should have a significant knowledge and experience with education as it relates to infectious diseases, regulatory needs, and prevention of spread of disease. This position demonstrates competence in sterilization and high level disinfection procedures and works closely with the Director/Hospital Epidemiologist/Infection Prevention Committee to assist with the development of all infection prevention activities. The Infection Preventionist reports to the Director.
BSN, or BSMT with SM and/or CIC
3 years in an acute care hospital and 3 years in Infection Prevention
Certified in Infection Control & Prevention (CIC); must maintain CIC
Excellent communication skills; excellent problem solving skills
