The Emergency Department Medical Director is responsible for provision of emergency and urgent treatment to patients who have illnesses within the scope of General Internal Medicine, Family Practice, and Emergency Medicine. Utilizing consulting services as necessary, they provide care to all patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Other duties include:
Supervise all Emergency Department providers regarding quality of care, performance measures, and shift structure;
Work with Emergency Department Nurse Manager on Interdisciplinary Team Care, process improvement, throughout times, patient complaints, and department meetings;
Supervise OPPE and FPPE process;
Attend committee meetings as designated;
Supervise Performance Improvement Plans for providers as required;
Participate in the recruitment process of new providers;
Work with Service Chiefs on mutual issues regarding Emergency Department.
Work schedule: 8:00am- 8:00pm, 8:00pm - 8:00am, variable shifts

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year it was completed.
