Providence is calling a Wee Care Manager to our Wee Care Child Development Center in Portland, Oregon to work in direct partnership with the Managing Director. Wee Care is a highly rated program, and a full participant in Spark, Oregon's quality rating and improvement system for childcare services. We are looking to add to our team! This is a full-time, benefited position.
In this position, you will:
Provide leadership and works as a team member to provide a safe and secure environment for children, as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Provide activities to enhance a child's social, emotional, physical and intellectual development following Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP).
Be responsible for general program management, staffing, staff development, and interface with children, parents and visitors.
Manage Wee Care, which is both Providence's on-site employer sponsored early learning facility and a community service, primarily serving Providence Health & Services (PHS) employee families as well as additional families from the greater Portland area. The center operates Monday through Friday, year-round, serving infants through pre-kindergarten.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or related field (as defined by the Oregon Registry/Oregon Center for Career Development in Childhood Care and Education) and 2 years of direct child care and teaching experience - OR - Associates Degree from an accredited college in Early Childhood Education Degree or related field and 4 years of direct child care experience
Must pass appropriate background checks as required by Providence
In compliance with the Oregon Office of Child Care, enrollment in the Central Background Registry is required for this position, based on assigned duties
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Management experience in a licensed early childhood setting with proven ability to organize and direct early childhood educational activities
Knowledge and experience with Spark (Oregon's Quality Rating and Improvement System) and the Oregon Registry as well as the National Association for the Education of Young Children standards of accreditation.
