Overview

Status: Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

Starting Salary/Hourly Rate: $26.13- $30.05 per hour DOE, plus excellent holiday / vacation / sick pay and health benefits!

For internal candidates/union positions only: Compensation is set by agreed to language in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between CCSNW & SEIU 1199NW and determined based on experience.

Responsibilities

Incumbent is responsible for providing therapeutic services to a wide range of individuals, who struggle with Behavioral Health, SUD, and homelessness. Incumbent will participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in providing assessment, client-guided counseling, and crisis intervention and treatment planning for emotional and behavioral problems with emphasis on providing services that encourage client recovery and promote Mental Health stability.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Support clients during times of de-compensation/crisis, as a liaison and primary point of contact for any interaction with community systems/agencies.
  • Conduct follow up regarding client care and recovery, including communication with legal systems, hospitals, IP facilities, as well as medical and psychiatric professionals.
  • Provide direct services in outpatient setting including but not limited to Mental Health Assessment, individual and groups therapy, and linkage to relevant resources.
  • Make professional decisions and recommendations for client treatment.
  • Establish rapport and maintain effective therapeutic relationship, while providing client-centered direct services and interventions.
  • Utilize Evidence-Based practices in providing quality direct services.
  • Formulate treatment plans that includes factors that may contribute to client treatment and follow up on progress regularly.
  • Identify and address risk to client well-being including client de-compensation and barriers to recovery.
  • Address individual as a whole person and involve multidisciplinary team to support client stability.
  • Provide resources and referral to internal agency services as well as to community partners.
  • Complete and maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner, in adherence with agency guidelines.
  • Maintain collaborative mindset in working with colleagues, referral sources, community partners and management.
  • Provide on-site support to clients and staff by providing availability within the milieu.
  • Provide consultation, psycho-education and guidance in regards to Mental Health treatment, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions to other staff.
  • Provide high intensity services to clients in crisis, which may include outreach and referral to emergency services.
  • Participate in trainings and career development opportunities that contribute to ensuring high standards of treatment implementation.
  • Attend appropriate community-based networking meetings as appropriate and requested.

Access to and protection of PHI:
  • Responsible for upholding a culture of privacy and security in highly confidential work environment (HIPAA covered entity service area).
  • Complies with all CCSWW policies and procedures that involve access to and safeguarding of client Protected Health Information (all forms).


Other work related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM:
  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • 1 year clinical experience working with adults who have mental health and/or substance use disorders
  • Strengths-based orientation.
  • Understanding of recovery concepts including Stages of Change.
  • Knowledge of Trauma-Informed care.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and crisis management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Behavioral Health and SUD services in Whatcom County.
  • Knowledge of Housing-related concepts including Harm Reduction and Housing First models.
  • Reliable transportation, Washington State Driver's License and Current automobile insurance.
  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.
  • Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork.
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
  • Criminal History Background Checks are required prior to employment.
