Description
Immanuel, a non-profit senior care and retirement living organization headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, seeks a humble, authentic, and visible leader to serve as its next President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Reporting to the Immanuel Board of Directors and working closely with the other members of Immanuel's Executive Leadership Team, the CEO is the top executive responsible for the overall vision, strategy, and performance of a purpose-driven, multi-site nonprofit senior services organization. Anchored in a faith-based mission to enhance the lives of older adults, the CEO ensures that the organization's objectives are aligned in resonance with Immanuel's Christ-centered mission, operational excellence, financial strength, and superb workforce engagement, which are key priorities for the new leader. An authentic and engaged presence across all of Immanuel's communities and services is expected from the new CEO, emphasizing the importance of driving financial and performance fundamentals with a results-oriented approach. Enhancing current performance to drive sustainability across the organization will be a key deliverable for the new CEO, in addition to fostering innovation, growth, collaboration, creativity, and service excellence. The CEO is also responsible for expanding impact through innovative and non-traditional services, including healthcare partnerships, home health services, wellness initiatives, and community-based programs.
With locations across Nebraska and Iowa, Immanuel's mission is rooted in its Christian foundation and the Christ-centered services it provides to seniors and the broader community. The organization believes that all people—regardless of age, income, race, or identity—deserve to age with dignity, safety, and wellness. Immanuel’s approach is personal and compassionate, driven not by revenue, but by a longstanding and proven commitment. “Here for you, not for profit” is more than a motto—it’s a promise to each person they serve. With operating revenues of $200M+, Immanuel’s dedicated staff of 1,696 employees serves 2,852 seniors. The organization’s portfolio includes 18 active communities—offering independent living, assisted living, memory support, and long-term care—across 11 campuses, as well as several affordable housing communities. In addition, Immanuel operates 3 PACE locations serving 18 counties in Nebraska and Iowa, and also provides home health and hospice services.
The ideal CEO candidate will have substantial progressive leadership experience, gained in a complex multi-program, multi-site senior services, healthcare, and/or non-profit setting. A bachelor's degree is required for the role, and a master's degree in business, healthcare, or a related discipline is strongly preferred. This position requires travel to Immanuel's locations in Nebraska and Iowa, as well as occasional travel outside of the region. When not traveling, the new CEO will work from the corporate office in Omaha, Nebraska. This is an outstanding opportunity for a values-driven, relational, and results-oriented leader to play a pivotal role in steering the strategy of a dynamic organization.
