Matulaitis Rehabilitation & Skilled Care is seeking a Director of Nursing.  We are a Catholic, non-profit facility driven by our mission to help others. This managerial position involves delegation, responsibility, and accountability. The DON will direct the overall operation of the nursing department in accordance with current nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the facility to assure that the highest degree of resident care is always maintained.

The Director of Nursing oversees the nursing staff and overall nursing operations of the facility. The duties include evaluating and directing all nursing employees, establishing goals for the nursing department and creating and enforcing compliant healthcare policies.

Requirements

Supervising all nursing staff
Overseeing department budget
Maintaining high standards of care for all patients
Managing patients’ data and medical records as confidential records
Communicating with doctors, patients and family members about patient health
Recruiting, training and onboarding new nursing staff
Implementing new procedures and training Nurses on policies
Collaborates with physicians and administrators across departments and seniority levels.
Communicates effectively and has strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excels at relationship building and has strong leadership skills.
Learns quickly and has strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Develops strong relationships with patients and their families and has an excellent bedside manner.
Works calmly in high-pressure situations.
