The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Division of Palliative Care & Geriatric Medicine is seeking an Attending Physician board certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine with exceptional clinical and leadership expertise to become the next Director of the MGH Home-Based Palliative Care Program.

The MGH Home-Based Palliative Care Program provides specialized palliative care support to patients with complex, advanced illness, and evidence of disease progression in the home care setting. The Director will lead a team of nurse practitioners and social workers, and effectively collaborate with patients, their caregivers, and other health care providers. The successful candidate will have program management experience as well as several years of experience developing and implementing home-based care models. The Director will interface with leadership and stakeholders across the Mass General Brigham healthcare system. The successful candidate will have clinical training and experience in Palliative Medicine with experience working in the acute care hospital, ambulatory, and home care settings. The position is for an attending palliative medicine physician who will provide consultative and longitudinal care in the ambulatory and home care settings and attend on a hospital-based consultative service, in addition to their leadership role.

Requirements

The candidate must meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates will have an MD or DO, Board Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine, and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
