Javon Bea Hospital - Rockton Avenue has added a Sub-Acute Unit (LTC/Skilled Nursing). The Sub-Acute Unit offers a variety of services which help meet both the medical and non-medical needs of people with a chronic illness or disability who cannot care for themselves. The care is focused on individualized and coordinated services that promote independence, maximize patients' quality of life, and meet patients' needs over a period of time.

Business Services Supervisor, Sub-Acute Unit (LTC / Skilled Nursing), Javon Bea Hospital - Rockton Avenue / Mercyhealth Hospital & Trauma Center - Janesville / Mercyhealth Harvard Hospital, Days, 80hrs / 2wks

The Business Supervisor needs to have knowledge of the Skill Nursing Facility PDPM payment model and working knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility claims processing, including sequential billing and consolidated billing requirements. The Business Office Supervisor works closely with the RN MDS Assessment Coordinator and oversees the authorization process.

Essential duties and Responsibilities
•Develops and implements policies and procedures related to Skilled Nursing Facility patient access.
•Implement procedures related to our financial services policy and ensure proper workflows to meet revenue and reimbursement goals.
•Maintain the skilled nursing facility billing program including charge master updates, fee schedule maintenance, user account maintenance, and census event registration maintenance.
•Complete and process audit requests and follow up to ensure that payers receive information needed and that reimbursement is not affected.
•Supervises and evaluates frontline and business office staff. Conduct employee Performance Reviews with subsequent discussion of pertinent review findings and recommendations.  When deficiencies are noted, monitors employee performance to assure that corrective action is taken.
•Hires partners for Skilled Nursing Facility patient financial counseling, provide training, coaching and disciplining employees; and resolve employee issues.
•Provide a primary point of contact for customer inquiries and work with patients and other customers face to face or by phone.  Providing excellent customer service and ensure that employees provide the same positive and helpful image.
•Uses problem solving skills to identify and correct problems before they escalate to larger issues.  Collaborate and communicate with other departments to ensure positive interdepartmental interactions.
•Assist with the follow up on patient billing complaints received. .  
•Assist with departmental budgetary needs and stays within budget.
•Set goals and audit procedures to ensure that employee performance is in compliance with rules and regulation and that corrective action is taken when appropriate.
•Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks and participate in professional societies.
•Determine Education needs of partners and create and review education material and make sure staff always has the most updated materials.



Requirements

Education and Experience 

Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred. If minimum education requirement is not met must be obtained within 36 months of hire.

Minimum two years’ experience in a healthcare environment including supervisory and/or training experience.

Knowledge of reimbursement practices for commercial and government payers.
