We are recruiting a diverse pool of undergraduate and graduate students for a unique opportunity to obtain real-world experience in aging services. The Summer Enrichment Program is a 12-week immersive internship hosted by Forest Hills of DC from June - August 2022

Summer Enrichment Internship opportunity for the student who wants breadth and depth exposure to various non-profit, mission-based senior living sectors. You will rotate through an independent affordable senior community, a chain of 3 communities, and congregate senior housing. You will spend time at the independent affordable facility, assisted living, secured assisted living memory care, and skilled nursing care services. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to have longer exposures to departments of choice or shorter rotations through all departments, such as Administration, Social Services, Life Enrichment, Maintenance, Environmental Services, Nursing, Rehabilitation Services, Finance, Dining Services, Human Resources, and Admissions/Marketing. The three organizations are Forest Hills of DC at ForestHillsDC.org, Stoddard Baptist at https://www.stoddardbaptisthomewc.org/, and NCBA. 



Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be a student nearing the end of his/her undergraduate studies or in graduate school and pursuing a degree in healthcare.
  • A 3.0 minimum grade point average on a 4.0 scale
  • An undergraduate or graduate student. Undergraduates must be entering junior or senior year of undergraduate study in the Fall following the program.
