LIFE Senior Care, a program designed to assist seniors with their customized healthcare needs, located in Jersey City Medical Center, is currently seeking a VP/Executive Director!

The Executive Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the PACE program including a primary care medical clinic, a provider network, 24-hour care delivery system, therapeutic services, a PACE Center, home care, transportation and quality improvement activities. Duties include ensuring the financial viability/continued growth of the program and managing business relationships with all contracted providers.

Responsible for managing all aspects of the PACE program including a primary care medical clinic, a provider network, 24-hour care delivery system, therapeutic services, a PACE Center, home care, transportation and quality improvement activities. Duties include ensuring the financial viability/continued growth of the program and managing business relationships with all contracted providers
Anticipates potential crisis and reprioritized workload.
Proactively evaluates problems and helps develop solutions.
Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the LSMNJ Code of Ethics and Business Integrity in the performance of duties.
Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
Follows all local, state and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Directs the overall planning and implementation of the PACE program according to New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDHSS) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
Regulations/Protocol. Through Business Director, oversee Medicare Advantage Plan and Pharmacy Benefit Plan management.
Selects, trains, and evaluates the following administrative staff: Controller, Medical Director, Director of Operations, Director of Quality Assurance, and Director of Marketing
Ensuring the provision of staff orientation and staff education
Maintains working relationships with projects sponsors and key stakeholders: the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS), and the National PACE Association (NPA)..
Oversees development of annual budgets and administers the budget, authorizing PACE expenditures with care and prudence, using the system purchasing resources. Oversees utilization management and cost containment. Meets budget targets.
Assures the growth and viability of the program through outreach, enrollment and expansion to new service/market areas as warranted and approved by the Board.
Represents the program on behalf of the parent organization, serving as spokesperson for the program, with state and federal officials and with funding agencies, community, and press.
In conjunction with the Medical Director responsible for identification, selection and credentialing of the provider network, overseeing all contracting activity.
Authorizes all personnel actions.
Convenes all-staff meetings no less than quarterly to reinforce the mission and vision, and values in practice and to update staff members on program growth, people, service, quality and stewardship.
Through the Director of Quality Assurance, assures that Lourdes is in compliance with all regulatory requirements and PACE practice standards. Assures staff training and development regarding geriatric and gerontology practice as well as regarding program changes.
Will act as the liaison for any security and privacy issues that arise at the community.
Develops gap filling services and residential/housing alternatives.
Directs Lutheran Senior Health Care Participant Advisory committee and liaison with Medical Advisory, Quality Assurance, and Ethics subcommittees.
Reports program progress to Board of Directors on a regular (at least quarterly) basis.
Ensures the development, implementation, and enforcement of all policies and procedures, including participant rights.
Planning for and administration of the managerial, operational, fiscal, and reporting components of the facility.
Participating in the quality assurance program for participant care and staff performance
Ensuring that all personnel are assigned duties based upon their education, training , competencies and job descriptions
Establishing and maintaining liaison relationships and communication with facility staff and services, with support services and community resources and participants.
Other duties as assigned by my supervisor, necessary for the efficient operation of the department/facility.

Basic Qualifications:

Education/Training/Certifications:

Master’s degree in nursing, public policy, health care administration, or business administration preferred.

Skill(s):

Knowledge and demonstrated competency in the management of health care programs for elderly persons.
Skill in personnel selection, evaluation and supervision
Skill in negotiating contracts and agreements with federal, state and local agencies
Skill in administering budgets, monitoring expenditures and determining resource allocation
Skill in managing a community-based long term care program
Skill in working with community and professional advisory committee.
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid program and capitation models.
Ability to lead and work within an interdisciplinary setting.
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Ability to anticipate and manage changing priorities per needs of the program.
Enthusiasm for geriatric medicine and issues in taking care of the chronically ill.
Skill and knowledge of how to work effectively in a managed care environment
Experience:

Minimum of 1 year working with the frail or elderly
6-8 years experience in non-profit administrative/management capacity preferably in the field of aging, long term care or managed care.
Medical Clearance:

Employees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
