The Telemetry/Medical/Surgical Department provides services to patients who need nursing care while they are being treated for their illness. The majority of rooms at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center are single occupancy. The hospital even provides room service for patients while they are in the facility. The staff is comprised of registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, unit assistants and telemetry monitor technicians. This dynamic group of professionals is available to serve patient needs 24 hours a day.
Patients and families are part of our care team and are encouraged to participate in developing the plan of care as well as patient rounding and bedside shift report. We believe that clear, open communication delivers the best outcomes for our patients.
The Central Monitor Tech is responsible for identifying cardiac rhythms and notifying the nurse of changes in rhythm. The central monitor tech will be responsible for watching a total of 41 rhythm channels in a central area. As directed, assumes responsibility for facilitating nursing unit operations under the direction of the RN. These duties include clerical and specific patient care activities. Other duties as assigned.
