The Sterile Processing Tech maintains and supervises surgical specialty to include maintaining par levels, checking outdates, training new technician staff and scrubbing surgical procedures related to specialty. Monitors surgical schedule related to specialty and assists in planning for future and current procedures by pulling cases, contacting industry representatives, and ensuring all supplies and instrumentation is available for that specialty. Collaborates with charge nurse and Director of Surgery, identifying specialty needs and concerns. Acts as a resource for staff and collaborates with any new physicians to obtain cases cards or specific surgeon requests. Identifies trends and quality improvement opportunities on a consistent basis. Assists in providing nursing care to the surgical patients, assists in the maintenance of instruments, equipment and supplies; preparation, transportation and supervision of patients. Performs scrub duties. Call coverage is required as needed. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.
