Successful candidates will contribute to the overall excellence of the department by performing routine exams in either an inpatient and/or outpatient setting in accordance with established protocols for positioning, image quality, and radiation safety. The inpatient setting may also include assignment to specialty areas requiring a Radiologic Technologist, such as the ED, OR, or Fluoroscopy. Candidates will utilize a variety of specialized equipment to produce radiographic and fluoroscopic images, including the scanners, power injectors, as well as computers and various software programs to enter patient related information into hospital databases.
Practicing radiation safety, through shielding, selection of exposure factors, and personnel monitoring.
Preparing, operating, and caring for equipment and other technical instruments used for patient positioning, administration of contrast, patient monitoring, and image acquisition.
Obtaining and evaluating images for technical quality and participating in quality/performance improvement activities.
Following infection control policies and procedures.
Maintaining proper documentation for clinical procedures in accordance with departmental policies.
Ensuring proficiency with all hospital software pertaining to patient workflow.
Assisting doctors and nurses and initiating life support if needed.
Demonstrating commitment to professional development which includes CME's and in-services.
Performing all other duties as assigned.
ARRT (American Registry of Radiology Technologist Registration) in CT and XR
State of New Jersey licensure in Radiologic Technology
Superior analytical ability to effectively resolve problems
Ability to explain clinical, technical, and diagnostic procedures to patients and their families.
At least two years of CT and X-Ray experience required
