Manages the design, implementation, and evaluation of regulatory learning and staff development activities for the Agency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leads the organization-wide Learning function by identifying Agency site learning needs. Structures training in accordance with facility regulations, payer contracts and best practice standards. Develops content and appropriate program format to meet needs.
Researches and proposes best practices with regard to E-Learning and Learning Management Systems.
Facilitates learning programs at Agency sites
Identifies, selects and coordinates other CJE staff who can assist in the development and delivery of learning activities
Has general knowledge of adult learning principles and employs various learning modalities to appeal to all types of learners
Has working knowledge of caring for older adults and those with dementia as well as culture change in the long-term care industry
Develops format for and applies evaluation methods for learning activities
Researches, recommends and provides staff and management with leadership and development training
Maintains strong, positive, consultative relationships with other CJE Managers and Senior Executives
Keeps abreast of regulatory requirements from IDPH, OSHA, CDC and other applicable regulatory bodies
Participates on agency committees as necessary
Provides orientation to and assists with onboarding of new employees at Lieberman Center
Organizes and maintains learning records for Lieberman Center employees. Enters data into learning management system. Evaluates compliance of Lieberman staff with learning requirements and informs managers of instances of non-compliance.
Maintains current CPR instructor certification. Provides CPR training to all nurses and CNAs at Lieberman Center, nurses at Weinberg, staff at Adult Day Services and staff in Transportation Department.
Works with Lieberman Center vendors to coordinate learning programs for appropriate staff
Manages agency registration for industry trade association conference
Works with program coordinators of area nursing schools to schedule nursing group site placement at Lieberman Center
Participates in Agency projects and initiatives as appropriate
May carry out indirect supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CJE’s policies and applicable laws.

Excellent customer service, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Education and/or Experience
5+ years of training/development/facilitation experience, preferably some in health care related area.
Experience with E-Learning and Learning Management Systems
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in organization development, health administration, business, or content related topic preferred
Familiarity/exposure to long term care/health care environment
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of regulatory requirements from IDPH, OSHA, CDC and other applicable regulatory bodies
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Some local travel required. Regular work location is Skokie, IL--Lieberman Center for Health & Rehabilitation
