Description

The Nurse Manager is responsible for daily clinical operations of Riverside Assisted Living & Memory Care. The Nurse Manager represents the facility to prospective residents and their families, community organizations, and physicians. Will facilitate efficient referral process from initial pre-screening through move-in. Will oversee the nursing department and ensures that each resident receives accurate and timely care. Supervises RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Is responsible for development and maintenance of all clinical policy and procedures, maintaining compliance with all governing agencies. Maintains responsibility for ongoing communication with the communities medical staff. Reports to the Administrator, Bourbonnais Campus or Executive Director, Kankakee Campus.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in development of and adheres to operational and capital budgets each year and assures prudent use of supplies, equipment, and personnel.
• Assures compliance with Riverside Healthcare Policies on Professional Standards of Behavior, Personal Appearance, and Code of Behavior for all clinical staff.
• Collaborates with Experience Team to ensure optimal resident participation in activities within Assisted Living & Memory Care.
• Collaborates with other team members to coordinate safe and compassionate care for residents.
• Completes staff schedule for RN, LPN, and CNA and edits Kronos timekeeper.
• Directs the overall day to day resident care activities for the entire team.
• Ensures accurate completion of tasks by all members of the team and conducts performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, orientation and training.
• Ensures resident/family satisfaction.
• Ensures safe and cost effective staffing levels.
• Markets facility to prospective residents and families.
• Coordinates entire process from time of referral to move-in to ensure compliance with Illinois state law.
• Provide support to staff during implementation process(es) applying change management and organizational development models in support of improved organizational performance.
• Serves as a liaison between residents and families to communicate resident needs/changes with physical/cognitive status.
• Serves as a mentor and role model for staff development and a resource for the team.
• Ensures staff meet all competency and employee health standards and mandatory education standards.
• Thorough knowledge of alarm panel and emergency procedures.

Requirements

Experience/Education Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing required.
• 3 years demonstrated leadership experience as a manager in acute or long term care.

License or Certification Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with current Illinois license
• Current CPR certification with subsequent annual renewal required
